Year 2009

Days against Poverty 2009

Coordination team of the campaign Czechia Against Poverty kept the “50 days of action” scenario from the previous year. Therefore Czech Action days Against Poverty ran in different Czech and Moravian cities and towns already from the beginning of September. All together from September until November 3rd 2009 there were 62 events in 28 cities in almost all regions, organized by hundreds of volunteers and hopefully thousands of participants. Czech action days  culminated between October 16 and 18 2009, thus together with the global GCAP campaign. During these days there were information stands in the streets, public debates, documentary screenings, concerts and Stand-up – Take the Action events all over the country. After Stand-up Czech Action days concontinuedon October 24th (Day of the UN) and finished on November 3rd with the World March for Peace and Nonviolence.
